Artificial Intelligence and AI-Assisted Tools Policy

The International Journal of Green Pharmacy (IJGP) recognizes that artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI tools may be used in scholarly research and manuscript preparation. Such use must be transparent, responsible, and consistent with research and publication ethics.

Use by Authors

Authors may use AI-assisted tools for language improvement, grammar correction, formatting, or other appropriate purposes.

If generative AI tools have materially contributed to the development of the manuscript, authors must disclose the use of such tools in the manuscript.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

• Accuracy of the content
• Originality of the work
• Research integrity
• Data accuracy
• References and citations
• Ethical compliance
• Final submitted manuscript

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot accept responsibility for the work.

Authors must carefully verify all AI-assisted content, including references, factual statements, data, quotations, and interpretations.

Use by Reviewers

Peer reviewers must maintain manuscript confidentiality.

Reviewers should not upload or disclose confidential manuscript content to generative AI systems where such use could compromise confidentiality, intellectual property, or the integrity of the peer-review process.

Use by Editors

Editors must protect the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

AI tools must not replace human editorial judgment. Final editorial decisions remain the responsibility of the journal's editors.

Disclosure

Where applicable, authors should disclose the name of the AI tool, its purpose, and the extent of its use.

Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, and language correction generally do not require disclosure unless the use materially changes or generates substantive manuscript content.
